A word from the creator regarding this project:
I am extremely passionate about the representation of disabled folks in media, and as a disabled Sex-Worker, disabled visibility in pornography is a hot topic for me.
I am currently seeking 12+ sex workers to submit photos of themselves showcasing their disability (physical aids, medical equipment, service animals, etc) to be featured in a 2020 calendar. My goal is to make this calendar as diverse as possible (including any/all gender expressions) to demonstrate the variety of individuals in our industry.
Photo Requirements: The photos must be of a high enough resolution to be printed on a 16x18 calendar (the bigger the better), and preferably landscape oriented. Professional shots are preferred, though I understand that finances may be a barrier to professional photos and will not reject self-shot or semi-professional photos - but low-res cellphone pictures would not be appropriate for this project.
I am not seeking nude photos - ideally these calendars can be hung in public spaces to encourage a broader reach, but boudoir photos are welcome. Please avoid lower-half nudity if possible. You are welcome to show your face if you feel comfortable, but it is not a necessity. Please do not include a watermark on your photo as I will have the option to include each participants name on their page of the calendar.
I am happy to include your photographer's name should they wish to be recognized. Lastly, this photo does NOT have to be exclusive to the calendar! If you already have a favourite shot of yourself with your cane, your ostomy, your oxygen - you are invited to submit it!
This is a personal passion project, and I do not expect the earnings to be significant - however; once the production costs are covered I will split any earnings from these calendars evenly between the participants and a non-profit that provides services to street based sex workers in my local community.
I am hoping to order the calendars by October 15th, making this the deadline for photo submissions. I will update my Twitter in the event that the deadlines or requirements change.
*Lastly, though I recognize that invisible disabilities carry unique challenges, I am only seeking applications from those with visible disabilities at this time. If you have any questions or concerns about this please feel welcome to contact me at the e-mail provided below.
